The House of Delamotte, the sixth oldest Champagne house, was founded in 1760 by François Delamotte in the heart of the Côte des Blancs in Mesnil-sur-Oger. The winery, cellars and offices are located in a stunning 18th century mansion adjacent to the House of Salon, in the heart of the Mesnil-sur-Oger vineyards.

“Delamotte is best known as the sister estate of its famous neighbor Salon, one of the most storied names in Champagne. Increasingly, though, the Delamotte wines are noteworthy for their own merits.”
Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate, Dec 2009

1999 Champagne Delamotte Blanc de Blancs

4.5/5 stars and 94/100 points
“(…) Super-fine texture, really impressive vanilla-spiced citrus flavours, very fresh, composed and immaculately balanced.”
Nick Stock, The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2010

92/100 points
“…a beautifully nuanced wine. Here the Chardonnay speaks with notable eloquence, often drawing parallels with the wines of Burgundy. The mousse is exceptionally finessed and the wine offers great depth as well as richness. The essence of crushed rocks, smoke and minerals are layered beautifully in the polished finish.”
Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate, Dec 2009

Matthew Jukes, The Daily Mail (UK), Dec 2009

4.5/5 stars and 93/100 points
“Made under the same management as the scintillating, perfect Salon, this is a complex and balanced Blanc de Blancs, superbly structured and phrased.”
Nick Stock, The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2010

NV Champagne Delamotte Brut

Huon Hooke, The Sydney Morning Herald, Good Living, July 2007

‘Editor’s Choice’ and 92/100 points
“There is good bottle age here, the wine full and ripe with an integrated dosage that is relatively high.  Flavours of sweet pastry go with white nectarines and pears.  It’s deliciously balanced, finishing with a soft, fresh aftertaste.”
Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Dec 2009

Top 50 Festive Favourites

NV Champagne Delamotte Rosé

95/100 points
“Luminous pale rose-pink color with shimmering overtones of mother of pearl and very fine bubbles. Intensely red fruit-driven aromas with impeccable balance and just enough dried orange peel lingering in the background to add wonderful dimension. (…) An exceptional rosé.”
The Wine News, Dec 2007/Jan 2008

92/100 points
“Zesty red currant and pomegranate aromas are complemented by white flowers and chalk. Finely etched red berry and pink grapefruit flavors are refreshingly bitter but gain flesh with air. (…)”
Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar, Nov 2008

92/100 points
“Very fragrant boasting rose, violet, red berry and peach aromas and flavors.  Opulent, even creamy with underlying acidity that freshens the finish and a subtle aftertaste of fruit and spice.”
Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator Magazine (US), Nov 2009
